o H w a Ku P4P u K H W pq SPRINGFIELD CHURCH. 321 one time there were more than twenty members living here,but some of them proved unfaithful, some died, othersmoved away. Some years ago, only a few members beingleft, services were discontinued, and the house is now fallinginto decay. Perhaps as early as 1850, preaching services bythe Brethren, were held in Allentown. All the ministersof the old Indian Creek Church preached here, includingIsaac Kulp and Henry Cassel, who later were Elders inMingo. These services were continued for a period ofmore than twenty years, and at times much interest pre-vailed, and about 10 or 15 members lived in the city. Itseems, however, there was no effort made at any time tostart a Sunday School, or to build a house of worship, theservices being held in the homes of the members. Manyyears ago, the interest was allowed to die out, some of themembers proving unfaithful, the services were discontinued,and no effort seems to have been made to revive the work
