67, and is a son of Giona and Esterina(Sonnati) Canuti. His father was a stone mason, andboth parents are now deceased. Beginning his educationin his native land, and covering two grades in the publicschools there, Mr. Canuti was eight years of age whenhe came with his parents to the United States. Thefamily locating in Pittsburgh, he attended the grammarschools of this city, then, finding his luture in his ownhands, worked for a period to secure funds for thehigher education which was a part of his plan of life.After a preparatory course at Iron City College, heentered the Western University of Pennsylvania (nowthe University of Pittsburgh), from which he was grad-ated in the class of 1906, with the degree of Bachelor ofLaws, and was admitted to the bar the fall of the sameyear. Thus for fifteen years Mr. Canuti has practicedin this city, always alone, and has become well knownas a champion of right and justice, particularly in therelation of the law to the child.
