He is a member and Director of the Massachusetts Society in Chicago,and member and vice-president of the Menoken Club, a member of the HamiltonClub, and a member of the Royal Arcanum. He is a L niversalist. having beenconnected with the Church of the Redeemer of this city since 1868. For severalyears past he has been treasurer of that society. He was married on May 3rd. 1882. to Miss Jennie E. Woodard, daughter ofWillard Woodard. who in his life time served one term in the State Senate inIllinois, and as President of the West Chicago Park Board for several terms.Her mother was Lavina Ellery. a granddaughter oi William Ellery. and a grand-niece of Josiah Bartlett, both signers of the Declaration of Independence.
