Español: El Himno de Yungay se compuso en honor a la batalla del mismo nombre desarrollada en el Cerro Pan de Azúcar de la Provincia de Yungay, Perú, en la cual la unión del Ejército de Chile, al mando del general chileno Manuel Bulnes, junto al Ejército Restaurador del Perú dirigido por el peruano Agustín Gamarra, vencen a las fuerzas de la Confederación Perú-Boliviana lideradas por el boliviano Andrés de Santa Cruz.
Compuesto en 1839, con música de José Zapiola y letra de Ramón Rengifo, fue considerado por mucho tiempo (hasta la segunda mitad del siglo XX) casi un segundo himno nacional en Chile por su popularidad. |
