Description The U.S. Navy high speed minesweepers USS Thompson (DMS-38, formerly DD-627), USS Davison (DMS-37, formerly DD-618), USS Mervine (DMS-31, formerly DD-489), and USS Quick (DMS-32, formerly DD-490) (listed from left to right) of Mine Squadron 21 nested in port, circa 1945. The location may be Oakland or San Francisco, California (USA). 24 Gleaves-class ships were converted to high speed minesweepers in 1944-1945.
