The hetaerolite is jet black but very lustrous. This photograph emphasizes the luster. (Jet black with no highlights doesn't look like anything!) The yellow stuff is radiating recrystallized zincite. There is also a bit of nondescript chlorophoenicite (pale tan fibers) and tiny pinkish hodgkinsonite.

Sichtfeld 3,1 x 2,5 mm.
Der Hetaerolith ist tiefschwarz, aber stark glänzend. Dieses Foto betont den Glanz. Das gelbe Zeug ist radialstrahliger, rekristallisierter Zinkit. Es gibt auch etwas unscheinbares Chlorophoenicit (hellbraune Fasern) und winzigen rosafarbenen Hodgkinsonit.
