DescriptionHeroes square.jpg | Heroes' Square, formerly Trafalgar Square in Barbados. There are ten official heroes including Samuel Jackman Prescod. When you're driving around the island and you see milestones marking the distance from town, the distance has been measured from this square. This is one of the earliest beautification projects; it's years old now, and I can't even remember what it used to look like before. A lot of free concerts and cultural shows are held here, especially around Independence time. What I especially like about this picture is that I managed to get a shot of the old lady carrying her basket of goods on her head. That sort of thing was fairly common when I was a little girl, but you don't see it around much anymore. | ||
