Summary[edit]

Description
English: Two of the heritage Routemaster buses heading west along the Strand past the Charing Cross, about to enter Trafalgar Square. They're operating the two heritage routes set up in 2005 by Transport for London to continue public transport Routemaster operation in London beyond the withdrawal of the type from the last ordinary Routemaster operated service, the 159. Infront is one operating heritage route 15, which covers central & east London - it's about to terminate at the end of the route in the square, having presumably started in Tower Hill. Behind it is one operating heritage route 9, which covers central & west London - it's heading for the Royal Albert Hall having started its route in the Aldwych a short distance away. Both are resplendent in the original red, cream & gold lettered London Transport livery that was adopted as standard for the heritage routes, with only the route numbers/destination and the small gold operator logos above the front lower deck window showing which is which. Sadly this scene is no longer possible, as route 9 was later altered - an extension to terminate further west in Kensington High Street, was balanced by curtailing the eastern terminus to Trafalgar Square, meaning the two routes now only overlap in the square itself (or rather, the small roundabout at its southern edge).
