Description
Italiano: "Ercole uccide Caco", di Baccio Bandinelli (1534); piazza della Signoria, Firenze, di fronte a Palazzo Vecchio. Il mito racconta che Ercole, dopo aver ucciso il mostro Gerione e avergli sottratto una mandria di buoi, si mise a dormire vicino alla grotta in cui viveva Caco. Questi era un mostro figlio di Vulcano, il quale approfittò del pisolino di Ercole per rubargli quattro tori e quattro vacche. Ma Ercole non la prese bene: scoperchiò la grotta di Caco e lo uccise, facendo così anche un piacere alla popolazione locale.
