Summary[edit]
DescriptionHemimycena pseudogracilis (Kühner & Maire) Singer 715819.jpg |
Hemimycena pseudogracilis (Kühner & Maire) Singer Image location: Redwood Gulch Rd., Saratoga, California, USA On decaying skin of a California horse-chestnut’s seed. The cup is about 7 mm tall. “One mushroom is not a collection”, I guess especially not if the mushroom is a Hemimycena, but still it’s fun to examine. Totally nonreactive in Melzer’s. No cheilo/pleuro/pileo-cystidia. Caulocystidia irregularly cylindrical. Pileipellis with diverticulate hyphae. Lacrymoid spores 7-9 × 3-4; basidia (24-30)+5 x (6-7). All this agrees with the description of Hemimycena pseudogracilis, and the photo in the Antonin-Nordeloos monograph looks similar enough too. The species is European, however; I don’t know if it’s been reported from North America. My old Observation 91419 may be the same thing. Recognized by sight
