Description

Cover: Brain-tree, by Walt Crowley. Page 6-8 includes transcript of Stokely Carmichael's speech at the Oakland Auditorium. Page 8 article discusses resistance to the Vietnam War draft in Seattle.

Copyrighted Ron Cobb cartoon suppressed. Will enter public domain in the U.S. in 2064, and in p.m.a. + 70 countries in 2091.

The cartoon shows two men sitting on a bench. In the background is an armored police vehicle. A video camera is aimed at them, with a sign saying "For your protection"; under the camera is a sign labeled "CURFFW" (sic), with columns indicating different times for "A", "B" and "C". The bench has a sign, "Benches are for B citizens only" and the men are wearing … clothes prominently labeled with "B" and with a serial number. One man is saying to the other, "Well... at least we don't have to worry about anarchy anymore...."
