Summary[edit]

Description These are the deciphered postcards of Helen Petty (1883–1945) to her fiancé Ted Claxton between 1904 and 1905. The postcards were deciphered between 2020 and January 2021. If using this crib yourself, please note that Helen's handwriting is variable and not always clear, and that although she was fluent with the cipher, she occasionally made errors with it. It is likely that Ted Claxton was the primary creator and updater of the cipher as used on the postcards, but that Helen was involved in that process.
