Summary[edit]

Description
English: This family farmhouse was the homestead of the Head family. It was situated at the end of the Head Road which intersected Highway 41 north of Cloyne. Today, only a few logs and foundations remain. The farmhouse is not far from the outlet river (Mississippi) of Mazinaw Lake. Bernice Wise (Head) recalls crossing a footbridge over the river when they attended the Marble Lake schoolhouse saving many miles of walking. The schoolhouse is still standing today near Loon's Call Resort on Marble Lake. If spring thaw took out the footbridge children would need to walk many miles to the large bridge on Head Road that crosses the river near Cedar Lodge.
