| Description |
English: Head, Marlborough Street, Belfast. The former Lytle's and McCausland's warehouse, on the corner of Victoria Street and Marlborough Street, stood derelict for at least 25 years. After major renovations it re-opened as a hotel. The Victoria Street façade is known for its heads representing various parts of the world. This chap (around the corner) is not so well known. A companion African head previously adorned the arch a little further up the street, but was removed in the 1980s and put into storage when the building was altered. Sculpture by the Fitzpatrick Brothers. The building dates from 1866-8. Continue to 1185368. |
