Hays House Restaurant sidewalk view in Council Grove, KS

The building is on Main Street in Council Grove. From 1847 to 1859 Seth Hays used his log home to trade out of, then built the Frame Store. The store has been remodeled, but some of the original timbers can be seen in the basement. The building has seen many uses, including a general store, hotel, saloon, and couthouse.
