English: I was intrigued by the architecture of this building, in particular the repetition of the exterior cross-hatching that outlines the arches, and how the play of light filtered by the glass roofing is contrasted with the metal framework.
According to Wikipedia, this station, designed with its shell-shaped roof by architects Schmitt and Schneiderhall, was opened on 23 September 1957. More than 280,000 arriving and departing passengers are estimated to use 1,200 trains daily from this location. |
