Title
A Market Scene, at Kand-i-badam, Weighing and Transport of Almond. Kand-i-badam was at the border region of current Uzbekistan and Tadjikistan, more or less between Samarqand and Andizan, somewhat closer to Samarqand. At the time it was 18 miles east of Khujand by road. Litterally, the name Kand-i-badam means Village of the Almond, for the excellent quality of the almonds.
