English: More than half the space within the walls is occupied by government buildings and barracks. On the right is the great mosque of Jezzar Pasha, with its curiously butressed dome. It stands in a square court surrounded by domed chambers for the use of the mosque attendents and pilgrims. A steamer is approaching the town of Haifa, at the foot of Mount Carmel.
