English: Harriet Overton Stimson, Seattle, ca. 1900
Description
English:

Harriet Overton married lumberman C.D. Stimson at Big Rapids, Michigan in 1892, several years after the family business had relocated from Michigan to the Puget Sound. Along with other prominent women, Harriet was a supporter of the Seattle Symphony and other growing Seattle institutions. Here, Harriet Stimson wears an elaborate lace dress, fox fur stole and muff, and a plume-decorated hat. She posed for her portrait at Seattle’s prestigious Curtis Studio, sometime around 1900.
