Title
Harness pendant
Description
English: An incomplete copper-alloy Medieval Heraldic shield shaped harness pendant. It is missing the suspension loop, due to old breaks, now worn but would have originally been set at right angles to the plane of the pendant.

The front face of the shield bears the armorial device. In the centre is [colour] ou a chevron [metal] with three recessed estoiles or mullets of six points [colour]. Either side of the chevron the pendant was recessed to accommodate the now missing colour. The back face is flat and undecorated.

If estoiles it could be the Arms of Stephen de Cobham who had gules, on a chevron or three estoiles of grays sable. In 1327 at Hawstead Stephen de Cobham was taxed 7s.

This pendant measures 36.18mm in length, 24.50mm in width, 2.29mm in thickness, 7.08g in weight.
