Title
Harness pendant
Description
English: Shield-shaped harness pendant, complete, but the surface has been lost, making it impossible to discern any of the original design. The upper edge is convex, rather than flat, giving the pendant a rounded appearance, differing from the traditional shield-shape. The attachment loop is present and has its axis at right angles to that of the pendant. The perforation is filled with iron corrosion suggesting the pendant was secured to the suspension mount by an iron pin. The reverse of the piece has a black patina with traces of silver surviving in patches, suggesting the pendant may have been tinned or silvered.
