Title
Harness pendant
Description
English: A copper alloy shield shaped medieval pendant with a suspension loop in the middle of the top edge at right angles to the plate. The pendant is bent inwards on itself diagonally at the bottom. Traces of red enamel and silvering can still be seen on the surface of the shield. The design is probably three water bougets (a yoke with two large skins appended to it, formerly used for the conveyance of water to an army) in silver on a red ground (Gules, three water bougets argent), which are the arms of the de Ros family of Helmsley (see http://perso.numericable.fr/briantimms1/rolls/StGeorgesE2.html). It is 38.6mm long with a width of 23.5mm. It is 2.4mm thick and weighs 7.77g.
