Title
Harness pendant
Description
English: A cast copper alloy shield-shaped harness pendant. The suspension loop is intact, and the artefact is in good condition. The surface has a smooth, dark green patina. The face has an integrally-cast design in the form of a realistic lion rampant, facing left. Much of the face retains its original silvering, on both lion and background. I. Szymanksi believes that this may be the arms of Nicholas de Seagrave (d.1295), whose arms had a silver lion on a black background. This artefact dates to the 13th century.
