Title
Harness pendant
Description
English: A cast copper alloy shield-shaped harness pendant. The pendant has sloping shoulders; the long suspension loop is broken at the end. The artefact is otherwise in poor condition with a worn surface. The base is broken but the broken end is present. The face has three integrally-cast chevrons. Some small scraps of gilding survive on both faces, and a small amount of black enamel remains on the chevron. Irene Szymanski has identified this as possibly being the arms of Richard de Breuse. This artefact dates to the 12th or 13th century.
