Title
Harness pendant
Description
English: A cast copper alloy shield-shaped harness pendant and hanger. The surviving part of the hanger is bent over backwards and corroded in this position. The hanger is small and rectangular. The pendant is a neatly shaped shield, in fair condition. The surface has a slightly rough verdigris patina. The face has an outer raised border, and three crescents. There seems to be a good deal of decayed, buff coloured enamel on the surface. I. Szymanski believes this may be the arms of Sir Henry Dene of Northants. This artefact dates to the 13th or 14th century.
