Harness pendant
Description
English: A copper-alloy harness pendant with attached suspension mount, 41.7mm in length and 16.7mm in width, of medieval circa 14th century date. The suspension mount is rectangular in sahpe with a corroded iron rivet through its upper end and two parallel lugs at its lower end, a corroded iron bar runs horizontally through these two lugs and it is from this the pendant hangs. The pendant itself is shield shaped and its supension loop is set at right angles to the plane of the pendant. The front face of the pendant has two diagonally opposing recessed quarters and has traces of gilding surviving.
