Description
English: Harbor Hill (the highest point in Nassau County) as seen from Hearst's Overlook on Fernwood Lane in the Village of Flower Hill, Long Island, New York on December 24, 2021. The homes on the hill are in the Village of East Hills and are part of its Country Estates at East Hills housing development, which was developed and built by Country Estates, Inc. over the former estate of Clarence H. Mackay in the 1950s (the same firm also developed portions of Flower Hill around the same time). When looking near the bushes and the driveway in this photo, one of the buildings in the Roslyn Landing development in the Village of Roslyn can barely be seen behind the bushes. The high voltage power line visible on the hill parallels the Long Island Rail Road's Oyster Bay Branch.
