Summary[edit]

Description
English: Site of the Hanby Family House in Rushville, OH. The house that stood here was once the home of several members of the William Hanby family. According to historian George Kalb this was where abolitionist composer Benjamin Russell Hanby wrote the first draft of the famous anti-slavery ballad "Darling Nelly Gray" while working as a teacher in Rushville.
