Description

Image of the site of the halfway tree, one of two historical markers, some 100 metres apart, but bearing the same inscription. This one is on a post box, the text states:
ON THIS SPOT STOOD THE HALF-WAY TREE AT WHICH MAILMEN FROM PERTH AND FREMANTLE MET AND EXCHANGED THEIR MAILS FROM THE EARLIEST DAYS OF THE COLONY UP TO 1867.

and another plaque stating: SPB not in use. HISTORICAL MARKER
