Deutsch: Maßstabsgetreue dreidimensionale Nachbildung von Sonne, Mond und Erde mit der Rendering-Software Blender. Der Terminator (Schattenkante) des Halbmonds steht bei Sonnenuntergang exakt senkrecht, obwohl die Sonne deutlich tiefer steht als der Mond und man von der Erdoberfläche aus erwarten würde, dass der Halbmond nach unten geneigt sein müsse. Behält man Blickrichtung und Perspektive zum Mond bei und bewegt sich rückwärts weit weg von Erde und Mond, erkennt man, warum der Halbmond gerade steht und nicht geneigt ist. Die Sonne ist so weit weg von Erde und Mond, dass sie beide von rechts anstrahlt und nicht schräg von unten.
English: Three-dimensional true-to-scale replica of the sun, the moon and the earth using Blender rendering software. Descriptions within the picture are given in German. The terminator (shadow edge) of the half moon is exactly vertical at sunset although the sun appears to be much lower than the moon. From the surface of the earth we would expect that the half moon must be tilted downward. If one keeps the perspective and the direction of view to the moon and moves backwards far away from earth and moon, one recognizes why the half moon stands straight and is not inclined. The sun is so far away from earth and moon that it illuminates both from the right and not from somewhere below. In the last image we are so far away from earth that moon and earth are visually at the same spot at the lower left corner. Moon and earth would not be visible from this distance but in this last image their position is marked for reference with a pale blue dot. |
