Summary[edit]
DescriptionHailstones at the Gorsedd circle - geograph.org.uk - 1063090.jpg |
English: Hailstones at the Gorsedd circle A heavy hailstorm some 30 minutes earlier has highlighted the path through the bardic stone circle remaining, as always, after the Welsh National Eisteddfod that took place here on the disused St David's airfield in 2002. The stones are sourced from local farmland. The flat rock in the centre, known as the Logan stone, is where the archdruid stands to conduct the proceedings and to announce the venue of the next eisteddfod. Like so many apparently long-standing traditions, the ceremony dates only from the C19. |
