Description
Deutsch: Grauwacke-Steinbruch Ambrock der KSV Kies und Splitt GmbH Rhein-Ruhr in Hagen-Ambrock, Im Hamperbach 7. Blick von der Delsterner Straße (B 54) auf den am Rande des Volmetals gelegenen riesigen „Kösterschen“ Steinbruch. Geologisch betrachtet sind es mitteldevonische Brandenberg-Schichten aus der Zeit vor etwa 400 Millionen Jahren, die auch wissenschaftlich interessant sind. Hier wurde ein vielfältiger und unbekannter Bestand an Fossilien von frühen Landpflanzen und auch Panzerfischen gefunden. Der Steinbruch liegt im Landschaftsschutzgebiet „Eilper Berg/Langenberg“.
