Design drawing of HNLMS Ever (1873), showing the hydraulic gun mount.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Design drawing of HNLMS Ever (1873), showing the hydraulic gun mount. The hydraulic mechanism allowed the crew to fix the gun in a lower position, increasing stability in rough weather. The same construction was widely used in English gunboats of the same type.
