Summary[edit]

Description
فارسی: کاخ میان‌پشته
English: Mian Poshteh Palace is a Pahlavi era (1925-1979) built on the order of the founder of the Pahlavi dynasty, Reza Shah (1878-1944). Construction of the palace began in 1930 by Iranian engineers and it was completed in 1932. This 1,168 square-meter structure has been built in two stories and has a large foyer, 11 rooms, a dining room and four bathrooms. The building’s exterior is white marble and there is a 10 centimeter gap between the exterior and interior walls for insolation. All rooms have reinforced concrete ceilings with artistic stucco reliefs and small stucco figures in each corner. All rooms have a fireplace and windows open to the Caspian Sea in the northern part of the structure and a lush garden in the southern part. After a series of renovations, the palace was turned into a Military Museum in 1989 and now houses small arms, light weapons, and military equipment from the Zand (1785-1925) to the Reza Shah Pahlavi eras, antique navigation and diving equipment, Reza Shah’s furniture, gifts from the heads of various states to the Pahlavi family, heavy weapons, and photos showcasing the Iranian military’s inception in 1922 and its development over the years.
