Description Tellima grandiflora—fringe cups. The only species in the genus Tellima. Flowers begin as white, then turn red as they age. The fringes that give the cups their name are visible. Moist places and north-facing slopes to about 6,000 feet in the Coast Ranges and northern Sierra Nevada. Found from Santa Cruz County in California north to Alaska. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
