Das DLR-Forschungsflugzeug HALO, High Altitude and Long Range, basiert auf einer Gulfstream G 550 und entstand in einer Gemeinschaftsinitiative deutscher Umwelt- und Klimaforschungseinrichtungen. Seine Kombination aus großer Reichweite, maximaler Flughöhe, Nutzlast und umfangreicher Instrumentierung machen es zu einer weltweit einzigartigen Forschungsplattform.
