Summary[edit]

Description
English: On Thursday 21 March 2024, the National Assembly (AN) unanimously approved the Law for the Defense of the Guayana Esequiba, a territory rich in natural resources that is in dispute with Guyana. This map indicates the Guayana Esequiba zone. Guyana has one more territorial dispute with Suriname, where it holds the disputed zone with its military. While both countries agreed to demilitarize the zone , Guyana has never held up their part of the agreement.
