Summary[edit]

Description

A U.S. Coast Guard Grumman E-2C Hawkeye (USCG serial 3501). The USCG acquired eight E-2Cs in 1987 which were assigned to the newly commissioned CG Airborne Warning Squadron 1 based initially out of Norfolk, Virginia (later transferred to a new facility at St. Augustine, Florida).

One aircraft, CG-3501 (pictured), crashed at NAS Roosevelt Roads in Puerto Rico on 14 August 1990 killing all four crew. The squadron was disestablished the following year.
