Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Groyne at Inchmery foreshore Looking east along the Solent shore towards the Watch House at Lepe. The wooden groynes in the foreground are a measure to protect the soft cliffs on this stretch of coastline. The groynes are found all along this beach, although here most of them are submerged beneath the high tide. The Isle of Wight is on the horizon to the right of the photo, and a container ship is sailing out from Southampton Water towards the English Channel.
