English: Ground fireworks, or gigifogu, are a unique Maltese pyrotechnic tradition, and a very important part of the outdoor village feast celebrations in Malta. This shot was taken during a competition in which various fireworks clubs took part. In the photo one may see the members of one of the clubs joyfully cheering in support of their display.
