De Amstelbode, 15-09-1930: "Wetenschappelijk Nederland neemt afscheid van den nieuwen directeur der Vaticaansche Sterrenwacht. Na de huldiging van pater dr. J. Stein S.J. in het St. Ignatius-College te Amsterdam, werd van de belangstellende hoogleeraren, leden der Sterrenkundige vereeniging en oud-leerlingen een groepsfoto gemaakt op de binnenplaats van het college. Eerste rij van links naar rechts: drs. Levelt, dr. Sweers, Pater Kemper S.J.. Muller, prof. de Sitter, dr Hins, dr van de Bilt, (achter dezen prof. Pannekoek), dr. van Lohuizen, prof. v. d. Waals, (achter dezen pater Wessels S.J. rector van het College). prof. Kortenweg (achter dezen pastoor dr. Sloet). Pater dr. Stein S.J. de heer Jonas, dr.
