Photo de Thérèse Rivière (1901-1970) Thérèse Rivière, soeur de Georges-Henri Rivière, directeur du musée national des arts et traditions populaires, était responsable du département "Afrique blanche et Levant" au musée ethnographique du Trocadéro. Elle part de 1934 à 1937, avec sa jeune collègue Germaine Tillion, dans l'Aurès pour étudier les modes de vie des berbères chaouïa. Elle y fait de nombreuses photographies, des films et collecte des objets.

Photographie de l'exposition "Photographier l'Algérie" à l'IMA - Tourcoing Cette première exposition d’une année largement consacrée à la photographie à l’IMA-Tourcoing réunit une centaine de photos depuis le début du XXe siècle jusque 2002. Née en même temps que la conquête coloniale, la photographie a toujours accompagné l’Algérie. Cette exposition n’est cependant pas une histoire de l’Algérie par l’image. Upper buildings Photo of Thérèse Rivière (1901-1970) Thérèse Rivière, sister of Georges-Henri Rivière, director of the National Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions, was responsible for the "White Africa and the Levant" department at the Ethnographic Museum of Trocadéro. She left from 1934 to 1937, with her young colleague Germaine Tillion, in the Aurès to study the lifestyles of the Chaouïa Berbers. She takes numerous photographs and films there and collects objects. Print on baryta paper mounted on cardboard Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac, Paris Photograph of the exhibition "Photographing Algeria" at the IMA - Tourcoing This first exhibition of a year largely devoted to photography at the IMA-Tourcoing brings together a hundred photos from the beginning of the 20th century until 2002. Born at the same time as the colonial conquest, photography has always accompanied Algeria. This exhibition is not, however, a history of Algeria through images.
