Description
Deutsch: Freising, Diözesanmuseum – das Museum informiert:
„Frühklassisches Bildnis des Gottes Apoll, 5. Jh. v. Chr., Leihgabe der Glyptothek München“.
Der Glyptothek-Katalog (1979) informiert: „Kopf eines Jünglings, Typus ‘Strong’“ (Inv. Gl 179), parischer Marmor, 26 cm hoch, römisch-kaiserzeitliche (späthadrianisch-antoninische) Kopie nach einem griechischen Original aus den „Jahre(n) der fortgeschrittenen Olympiaskulpturen“ (was wohl „um 460 v. Chr.“ o. ä. heißen soll). – Wohl eher ein göttlicher als ein sterblicher Jüngling. Die Attribute anderer Repliken dieses Statuentypus deuten auf Apollon, aber da die Attribute sich jeweils nur an den Statuenstützen befinden und daher als Zutaten der römischen Kopisten anzusehen sind, sind sie nicht beweiskräftig für die Benennung des griechischen Originals. (Vierneisel-Schlörb formuliert auch das verklausulierter.) Der Typus erhielt seinen Namen nach dem ‘Kopf Strong’ im British Museum, London.
