DescriptionGrand Military Concert Perth 1942.jpeg |
English: Advertisement for a military concert, performed by the company of the Army Entertainment Unit, especially to raise funds for the "Penny-a-Plane" Appeal, at the Ambassadors Theatre in Perth on Sunday 15 November 1942. Corporal N.F. Hetherington (NX131018) — Norman Frederick Hetherington (1921–2010) — who, at the time, sporadically contributed cartoons to The Bulletin (and who would, post-war, work for The Bulletin), signed his cartoons with “Heth” and the last two digits of the current year; thus the reference to “Heth 42”.(Display Advertisement, The West Australian, (Wednesday, 11 November 1942), p.5.) |
