[edit]DescriptionGoodman Lumber Company No. 9 steam locomotive (two-truck Shay) - December 2008 - 01.jpg |
English: This 100 year old steam engine is the only surviving Shay locomotive that was used in Wisconsin. Shays were built to have significant power at slow speeds on steep grades and tight curves. This two-truck Shay locomotive was built in 1909 as a logging engine for Goodman Lumber Company in Goodman, Wisconsin. It is now part of the Mid-Continent Railway Museum collection in the town of North Freedom, Wisconsin. |
