DescriptionGonga, Tabriz.jpg |
English: The monument for the first Horse drawn tram in Iran. The name is "qonqa" which is a Russian word for horse drawn trams. These trams (a kind of trains), were first made in Austria and Russia 175 years ago, but then, became popular in many other countries later. Tabriz, was the first city in Iran, that used this vehicle as a means of urban transportation around the first world war and caused a lot of changes in the city transportation. "Qonqa square" used to be the main station for the tram.
