DescriptionGolden Lion Shopping Emporium.JPG |
English: The Golden Lion shopping emporium at 33-7 King Street East, Toronto, Canada. In the second half of the nineteenth century, Toronto's finest shops were located in the blocks of King Street closest to and on either side of Yonge Street. Two of the largest shops were the Golden Lion and the Golden Griffin, facing each other on opposite sides of King Street. The Golden Lion was demolished in 1901 to make way for the King Edward Hotel. |
