Description
  • English: Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856–1931), "Sitting naked boy playing a flute". Young boy playing a pan flute. Circa 1900, printed in 1912. Matte sepia-toned gelatin silver print on strong vellum paper. 23,1 x 18 cm. Signed and dated by the photographer in ink in lower right corner; numbers in pencil on the verso. Catalogue number: 0354. Cm 21,6x15,9. This pictures was used in 1896 by Hans Christiansen (1866–1945) to engrave a cover for German magazine Jugend. Published in 1915 by Caroline Atwater Mason, captioned "Daphnis".
