Deserted Girod Street in New Orleans, September 2005, after Hurricane Katrina

Summary[edit]

Description
English: After New Orleans was nearly wiped out by Hurricane Katrina, several members of the Part-15 wireless internet professional organization went there in September 2005 to determine if temporary wireless Internet could be used in local hurricane relief. This is deserted Girod Street in front of Ideal Auto Repairs. You can see military vehicles (HumVees) at the distant cross-street.
