Notes The woman is the model for Saint Barbara in the Saint Barbara Altarpiece (1502), now in Berlin, Staatliche Museen, Gemäldegalerie, inv. 207. The painting, formerly in S. Maria presso S. Celso, Milan, Cappella di S. Barbara, was commissioned in October 1502. Giovanni Morelli (1886) was the first to cite this drawing as one of four pastels by Boltraffio in the Ambrosiana, see cat nos. 1035, 3562, andf 3563 (F 290 inf. n. 8, F 262 inf. n. 33, and F 262 inf. n. 34, respectively) [1]
